Amaya

Amaya bio.png

Amaya is a homebirthing mother of three and a lover of God who honors Mother Nature and the mother-nature in women as they grow into their full embodiment of life-generation. Witnessing and caring for mothers and families through pregnancy, homebirth, postpartum, and new motherhood as her spirit aligns with those of the mother/baby is a way to fortify the thread that binds all to one another and to their Source. As sisters, she and the mother will learn, journal, and walk together for prenatal nourishment, and to reinforce nutrition, if local (currently Milwaukee, WI) Amaya provides a homemade meal and home-brewed kombucha whenever they meet. They will also focus on tai chi/asana exercises that encourage optimal fetal positioning and proper blood flow. She may be an especially good fit for a mother needing trauma-informed care or for one who trusts her intuition but may lack community support. Her goal is for the mother/baby to feel cherished by ‘the village’ as they prepare to birth/be born. Steadfast presence continues into the sacred postpartum space as the mother slowly reemerges as a whole new being, beginning with ample rest and blood-building foods throughout the fourth trimester.

Amaya serves families for six months to one year after the birth. In 2020 she will begin a holistic midwifery program with elder midwife, Whapio Bartlett, at The Matrona. She enjoys hiking in the mountains of her native Colorado, snowboarding, growing veggies, playing violin, and having John Coltrane dance parties with her husband and daughters. 她说普通话。
