Monna Elise
Monna Elise considers herself to be a student of life and a citizen of the world. She currently resides in Buffalo, NY. Her journey into birth work began in 2017 during a very empowering pregnancy, followed by a less-than-empowering birth-center birth which later made her realize the importance of doula support. The Indie Birth “Birth Warrior Project” showed Elise how to use her passion for physiological & mother-directed birth to stand beside someone through pregnancy and the fourth trimester. She is especially passionate about the third stage of labor and protecting uninterrupted transition for mother and baby. She believes in nurturing the divine feminine within and connecting to yourself and your child through creative process.
Elise considers it a great gift to be invited into a family's "birth bubble," and to experience a new being's first hours of life. She found her true calling serving women and families, but loves combining her in-person birth services with her love of healthy food and cooking up the best tasting meals imaginable. Monna Elise specializes in prenatal education, nursing support and connecting to the power of your moon cycle. She is often playing with flower and plant infusions as well as an assortment of teas and body oil. When she isn't studying all things birth, she can be found out in nature, with her bare feet in the water and her head in the stars. One of her personal goals is to end racial disparity in childbearing through community birth.
